TERMS & CONDITIONS – SELF-DRIVE CAR RENTALS 
1. Eligibility

- The renter must be at least 21 years of age (or as per applicable law).

- A valid driving license (Indian or International, as applicable) must be presented at the 
time of booking/vehicle handover.

- Original government-issued ID (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or PAN) must be provided for 
verification. 

Security Deposit 
This is a Refundable security deposit of up to 5000 will be charged. This figure may be reduced during promotional-deal periods. It will be refunded within 2-4 bank  working days of booking's end time. After fastag charges and traffic violations are verified. (Please be informed that violations will appear in the government portal  after 3-4 days from the time its booking end) 

Required Documents For KYC Verification : 
Driving License. 
Aadhar card. 
Employee ID card / Student ID card / GST Certificate in case of a business holder. 
Local residence of Hubli-Dharwad  can Submit - Rental agreement / Gas bill / 
Communication Bill / PG bill 

2. Booking & Payment

- Booking is confirmed only after full payment or as per the advance payment policy.

- Prices include basic insurance and standard kilometers per day (e.g., 250 km/day). Additional kilometers will be charged at the agreed per km rate.

- DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE AFTER VERIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE. 

3. Vehicle Usage

- The vehicle must be used only for lawful purposes and cannot be sublet, transferred, or used for commercial ridesharing (e.g., Ola/Uber).

- Smoking, carrying of hazardous materials, or illegal activities inside the vehicle are strictly prohibited.

- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any banned substance is strictly prohibited. 

4. Responsibility of Renter

- The renter is responsible for the vehicle’s safety and condition during the rental period.

- Any traffic fines, penalties, or legal violations during the rental period will be borne by the renter.

- In case of an accident due to negligence, the renter is liable for damages not covered by insurance.

- Speed limit is from 80 to 110Kmph. In case if customer exceed the 110 speed limit you will be charged INR 500/- for each violation.

- Number of people should not exceed according to car seating capacity

- Should not misrepresent the information in the driving license and ID proof details shared by the Customer.

- Customer Should not violate traffic rules or of the Motor Vehicles Act 

5. Insurance & Damages

- Vehicles are covered under standard motor insurance as per law.

- In case of an accident, insurance will apply subject to terms; however, the renter is liable for: 
* Insurance excess/deductible charges. 
* Damages due to negligence, drunk driving, or violation of rental terms.

- Lost items or personal belongings are not covered under insurance. 

6. Breakdown & Assistance

- In case of breakdown, immediate assistance will be provided.

- Replacement of the vehicle is subject to availability. 

7. Return of Vehicle

- The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date, time, and location.

- Late return beyond the grace period will attract penalty charges.

- The car must be returned in the same fuel level and clean condition as provided. Extra cleaning/fueling charges apply otherwise. 

8. Cancellation & Refunds

- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before booking start time.

- Transaction and bank charges are non-refundable.

- Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to deduction/forfeit of advance.

- No refunds if vehicle returned early. 

9. Company Rights

- The company reserves the right to decline, cancel, or terminate any booking without notice if terms are violated.

- The company reserves the right to modify pricing, terms, and policies at any time. 

10. Governing Law

- All disputes shall be subject to Hubli jurisdiction. (Booking & Cancellation Disputes/Service Quality Issues/Payment & Pricing Conflicts/Contract & Agreement Breaches/False Advertising & Misleading Offers/Disputes with Vendors & Partners)

- Any dispute will be handled by the local courts where the incident occurred. (Loss/Damage/Stolen Belonging/Personal Injury & Safety Claims/Accident/Mishap) 

11. Accident Policy 

- If an accident or mishap occurs, customers should submit all necessary documents. 

- In occurrence of vehicle damage, customer shall be sole responsible for all such loss in regardless of cause, or who, or what caused it. 

In the event of accident - customer is liable to pay maximum of ₹35,000/- and customer will need to pay damage fee equivalent to the repair to VIKIRAN  TRAVELS as per the estimation quoted by authorized dealership along with Downtime losses (The customer liable to pay rent for equivalent numbers of days taking  to be repaired). 

- In case of damage charges exceeds more than ₹35,000/- - An comprehensive insurance will be claimed and estimation difference amount will be borne by the customer and Downtime losses will be same as above. 

- For total Loss - A Comprehensive insurance will be claimed and the gap difference on estimation amount plus parking charges, etc, if any will have to be paid by customer including 3 months downtime losses while claiming process. 

- If User Negligence/Accident : Drink & Drive –Full damages will be borne by the customer. 

In circumstances where the Customer is responsible, payable by each Customer are at least waived and VIKIRAN TRAVELS shall not be liable to pay or obtain insurance claim or raise funds for insurance company/ies to meet some expenses in case of irresponsible/unscared/negligent usage (damage fees) would apply. Such state of affairs comprises, but is not limited to: 

• When the vehicle workshop and/or insurance company deem the damage to be consequential in nature. Consequential damage occurs when the Customer continues driving the vehicle even when it is performing abnormally. 
• Beach /off road drive is prohibited for vikiran travels vehicle and customer will be liable to pay a compensation of Rs 8000/- in addition to other damages, if the vehicle is taken for beach/off road drive. 
• Vikiran travels vehicles are restricted to use for the purposes that are forbidden & prohibited by the law; customer will be sole responsible & liable for all legal actions & consequences for such usage. 

Cleanliness and Maintenance 
Vikiran tarvels conducts periodical checks on vehicle performance and ensures that hired vehicles are clean. Vikiran travels expects its customers to help us maintain our standards of cleanliness. The Customer should return the vehicle in a clean condition of use. Vikiran travels shall charge the following damages and penalty shall deduct from the Security Deposit of the Customer. 

• No consumption of chewing gum, tobacco or any derivative from tobacco is allowed in the vehicle. Customers will be penalized accordingly. 
• Burning of any substance inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. This is not limited to but includes cigarettes, incense sticks or any form of medication/drugs. 
• Visible fabric stains internally. 
• Torn fabric inside vehicle. 
• In case if pets are allowed inside the vehicle. 
• Presence of sand, excessive mud inside the vehicle. 

Vikiran travels reserves the right to block, penalize, fine the Customer at our own discretion in event of non-compliance of the above. 

Running Repair 
While we strive to deliver high-quality products and services, electrical issues can arise due to various factors beyond our control, we recommend visiting a nearby garage or qualified service center for thorough diagnostics and repairs. Please note Vikiran travels cannot assume responsibility for unforeseen electrical malfunctions. In instances where the vehicle is operated using the half-clutch method, it is important for customers to be aware that this practice can contribute to accelerated wear and potential issues with the clutch plate, any fault or running repairs charges incurred, customer will be responsible for bearing the charges as per prescribed by our executive. 

Interstate Trip 
Customer is responsible for all tolls & state permits. Vikiran travels vehicle are registered with an all-India Permit, allowing the vehicle to enter any state of INDIA. All Vikiran travels cars have original RC card, insurance, All India permit, and self-drive license.. Please stop the vehicle at the border RTO check post to obtain valid state permit by paying relevant charges. If a customer plans to go Andhra Pradesh/Kerala, then the customer should inform our customer care to allocate the vehicle which has a valid permit. In cases of non-available of existing AP/Kerala state entry permit vehicles, then Customer must pay the fee and obtain state entry permit based on their requirement. 

Fastag 
FASTAG features are available in all the Vikiran travels, hassle free trip on national highway tolls. Customer should recharge fastag based on the trip duration by using phone pay or G pay only, please select and enter the vehicle number to recharge fastag, After recharge, please take a screenshot and provide it to our executive at drop time. If the customer utilizes the Fastag balance without recharge we will be charged double the fastag amount used. Since fastag is not managed by Vikiran travels any double charges / toll issues we are not responsible for such instance. 

Towing Charges 
User negligence/accident- Full cost should be paid by the customer. 

Personal Belongings 
Vikiran travels is not responsible for any damage to, Loss or theft of any personal property belonging to user or co-passenger or third party regardless of fault or negligence.
